I was born in Etelsen in 1953. After trainee-ship to become an engineering drafter a university education at the TH-Bremen followed in the area of architecture. During my childhood I was already interested in painting and drawing and took very opportunity to do that. Later as an architect I extended my knowledge of art resp art history.
As a pupil of the painter and graphic designer R. Schönfeld from Oyten and through numerous workshops in the area of visual art I extended my practical experiences in painting.
From 1999 to 2003 studies at the FH-Ottersberg followed in the specialised area of visual arts finishing with an art therapist and art teacher's diploma. Since 2003 I work as an art therapist, lecturer and in my own atelier.
The focus of my work is in the area of abstract and objectless art.
The effect of my pictures lays mainly in the interaction of colour, material and surface structure. The coexistence of denseness and transparency allows a large scope of freedom for a view of the inside. Soul surfaces are created. By experimenting with colours and applying it differently and using it in parts in very subtle shades very different impressions and moods are created. My work gives the viewer lots of space for his own interpretations and associations.

The pictures mirror the time in which I live.
The quest for freedom, to be autonomous and at the same time yearning for love, belonging and security. In a world where rules and values are being lost, where it gets more and more harder to find orientation and high flexibility and performance is demanded of us.
Nature with its endlessly great colour and shape diversity gives me again and again new inspiration for my work too.
