Etzin is with ca 300 citizens the smallest village of the town Ketzin. The historical grown village was first recorded in the year 1173. The villagescape has changed dramatically in the past years. Many houses have now been sympathatically renovated and cobblestone road was replaced with smooth asphalt road. Away from the large tourism centres the countryside surrounding of Etzin offers good conditions for relaxing and idyllic holiday.
The very active Heimatverein organises several events in the village so among others the traditional harvest festival in the month of September. On the occasion of the 825th village jubilee the community honoured Etzin's most famous citizen with the naming of Johann-Peter-Süßmilch-Stege.
Süßmilch, the forerunner of statistics worked as community pastor in Etzin from 1741/42.
