Urn finds testify that the village existed already during the Stone age over 6000 years ago. But the settlement was first recorded only in 1256 by Johannes de Buschowe. The name changed during the centuries and Buschowe became Buszkow, Butzkow and Buschkow and finally Buschow. From the Middle Ages to the 19th-century the village was separated. One part belonged to the family von Wilmersdorf, the other to the castle Spandau.
Buschow was in 1840 still a village with two knight manors and 35 residences. With the building of the railway line Berlin-Rathenow in the 19th-century the alley village grew and a train station was built from where one can still today reach the capital conveniently. Well developed hiking and cycle paths run through the Luch and the Nauener Land.
