The Singkreis St. Sigismund is a mixed choir with 40 singers right now.
The repertoire encompasses choral movements and canons from the so-called 'old music' to 'romantic' to 'modern' but also gospel and folk songs from all over the world.
It main task is the musical accompaniment during church services. But we also sing at private celebrations (birthday, jubilee, weddings...) always there where a connection to Singkreis music exist.
Once or twice a year a larger musical event takes place. This is the annual 'musical church service' on the 3rd of Advent' and annually changing, the summer evening singing 'under the lime tree' (an open-air event, which might be relocated into the community centre in bad weather) and an autumnal evening songs singing in the church.
Apart from the musical work the choir is busy socialising in the community. Several times a year events take place. Once a year we enjoy a leisure time weekend (also in preparation of new musical tasks). These weekend leisure times will be lead us among others to Gernrode/Harz, Bederkesa, Cuxhaven or Juist.
Rehearsals take place in the community centre every Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. We are looking for new singers and interested people are very welcome.
