Railway Station Jueterbog

Due to the construction of the Berlin-Anhalter railway in 1841, Jüterbog received a railway connection and thus another landmark.

After the construction was completed, further railway lines were added, for example, to Riesa, Zossen, Dahme or Treuenbrietzen.

The railway station was then situated around 2 kilometres from the town, thus the Jüterboger Straßenbahn AG (tram) was founded, which built a horse-drawn tram, in order to connect the station with Jüterbog.
This connection functioned from 1897 to 1928, after that buses came into use.

The Jüterboger Straßenbahn AG was dissolved in 1938, but parts of the horse-drawn tram were preserved well into the 1950ties.

These days, the Jüterbog railway stop is for the regional express train and regional trains from Wittenberg to Berlin, to Falkenberg and Beelitz via Treuenbrietzen.
