The town Trebbin was first recorded in 1213. Pestilence, wars and fires made a constant development until the middle of the 19th century nearly impossible. Only with the connection to the railway in the year 1814 started the industrialisation and increased settlement. Today Trebbin can claim to be economical centre of the region Teltow-Fläming. But not only the big industrial areas and shopping centres invite a visit but also the 'old Trebbin' with its well worth seeing monuments.
Around the market place one can see the so-called "Old Trebbin". Here the visitor will spot the town hall (built 1939), which was extensively rebuilt in the year 2000. The history of the town Trebbin is being depicted as wall painting in the foyer at the town hall. Immediately behind the town hall is the Marien-church situated, which stems from the beginnings of German settlement in Trebbin.
Especially well worth seeing is the St. Annen chapel, probably the oldest building of the town Trebbin. It was built in the 15th century from bricks and field stones and furnished with a valuable interior. Situated directly at the graveyard is still today being used as church and burial chapel.
