Hans Stefan Steinheuer and the „Alte Post“


One of the world's best restaurants. Several times Chef of the Year. Michelin-Restaurant.
These are all distinctions that have been awarded to Hans Stefan Steinheuer and his restaurants.
Directly next door and in the same building cooks the 46-year old in his two restaurants for sensualists of different demands. While the star-awarded  'Alte Post' offers the newest creations by the master on gourmet level, the  Poststuben restaurant serves Rhenish jewels. The latter is best known for its excellent value for money ratio.

Hans Stefan Steinheuer took over the parental establishment in  Heimersheim in 1985 after he passed several high-level training stages in Germany's prestigious houses. The love and instinct for the finest flavours brought him 2 Michelin stars, 19 Gault Millau Point, two Vartamützen and 5F´s of the Feinschmecker. He was chosen twice as Chef of the Year, is a member of the  L´Art de Vivre and the Jeunes restaurateurs as well as their former president and has enjoyed for the past years national prominence and recognition but not only because of his own television series Lebensart at N-TV.
Steinheuer acted right from the start as the figurehead for the event series 'Gourmet & Wein' and helped this extraordinary event and with that the region Ahr, Rhine Eifel to national success.

It is the creative composition of finest ingredients that founded his cuisine and with that his success. And it is cleverly done that his food never seems artificial. The guest will find in Steinheuer's restaurants stylish ambiance with Rhenish family access. With or without stars but always a special treat.
