Dreierwalde

image author: Stadt Hörstel

Dreierwalde, situated deep in the west of the Hörsteler urban area has been formed for generations by fields and meadows, heather and bogs, agricultural roads lined by hedges and trees. Thus, ideal conditions for cyclists and walkers. They are able to cycle and hike in lovely, untouched nature and seclusion on the numerous agricultural roads between hedges and trees.

Well worth seeing is the Dreierwalder village church St. Anna. Noteworthy is in any case also the beautiful Way of the Cross, made from oak wood by a local sculptor in 1963 and the Pietà at the church's north wall from the year 1719.

Well worth a visit is also Reining's Mill, situated along the river Aa, a bit off the beaten track. It is the ideal destination for cyclists and walkers. the mill has been lovingly restored. In the shade of high trees and listening to the murmuring water, makes you forget the hectic of everyday life.

The nature trail 'Lünnemann's Pättken' gives interesting information about agriculture, hunt and forest. The project '100 green classrooms' is connected to Lünnemann's Pättken and is meant to contribute to making children more aware of nature and notice changes in nature.
