Community Dorste

The village Dorste with its around 1.650 citizens, is situated between Osterode and Katlenburg at the border to the rural district Northeim.

In the village centre is the St. Cyriaki-church situated, which is over 175 years old.

The village Dorste originated before the year 1000, even though the oldest documents, which report about the settlement are of a younger date. The school house in Dorste was built 1911.

The fire brigade Dorste, celebrated its 110-year existence in May 2005. At the same time, the fire brigade marching band Dorste, celebrated its 70-year existence.
