Only 2km from Ketzin, past the post mill is Paretz, district of Ketzin, situated.
Paretz was first mentioned in the 12th century and celebrated its 800-year existence in 1997.
The Palace Paretz and the park originated around 1800 after plans by David Gilly. It was built as summer residence for Friedrich-Wilhelm III and Queen Luise of Prussia.
Classic concerts as well as theatre plays and history Sundays take place the whole year round at the palace facilities and the well worth seeing village church from the 18th century.
It is well worth a visit.
