Welcome to Möthlow

The village situated at the eastern fringe of the Amt Nennhausen was first recorded in the land book of Emperor Karl IV as Motelowe. The village changed its owners very often. It belonged to the family von Quast, family von Döberitz and no surprise here also to the family von Bredow. The village was very important in the past because it had a knight's manor, dairy farm, a high and low court, a windmill and an inn.

On the 9th of April 1811 the farm estate, the vicarage, the sexton's office, three farms and a day labourer's house were destroyed through arson. The oldest part of the village chronicle was unfortunately lost during this great fire. Er wurde von Wilhelm Schmidt, son of the last vicar in Möthlow wrote everything again from memory. Apart from a walk to the Weinberg a trip to Brandenburg's only Bee Museum is a MUST.
