A trip to the Waldau is well worth it especially, with children.

The adventure playground with its suspension bridges, seesaws and slides are ideal for children to romp about. There is a hollow tree trunk where children can play hide and seek, while the parents are able to watch their offspring siting comfortably on benches.

The hare Felix, explains to children everything that's worth knowing about the local flora and fauna along the forest nature trail on the Venusberg. and on a bare foot path one can try different grounds.

In the bordering game park, one can watch boars, fallow deer and elks. In spring, when the young boars whiz about the park, some visitors stay a long time on the fence as they enjoy the spectacle.

An information centre and a natural history museum are located in the House of Nature. Directly next door is a kiosk with refreshments.

Tip: the Waldau can be reached very easily by bus (line 602 from ZOB Bonn). Parking places are in short supply!
