Near Eschede-Weyhausen, at the B191 and the intersection to Unterlüß is another art object of the magical places in the Südheide to be found. The synthetic deer was put up by the artist Eugen Egner. It is another sign, that the 'Magic-Places-Artists' have made to connect the present with local history. Duke Christian Ludwig of Lüneburg built his hunting lodge at this intersection in 1654 and until 200 years ago, precisely such deers were hunted by the nobility. At this intersection also stood an around 250 year old oak, which had to be cut down and now serves as the base for the deer.
The vaulted cellar of the present forester's house in Weyhausen is apparently the cellar of the old hunting lodge and together with a rediscovered well, they form the only remnants of the former castle.
