The Big and Small Sloopsteene in Wersen und Halen
The two megalithic tombs were created around 2.000 BC. The Big Sloopsteenen in Wersen carried 22 carrier stones, today in parts slipped capstones. In the burial chamber, which was originally covered by a mound, several dead were buried. The remaining boulders belong to an outer stone ring. The east-west aligned passage grave is 23,5 m long and 7,5 m wide. The Big Sloopsteine is the biggest and best preserved funerary monument in Westphalia. - The Small Sloopsteene are situated in the village Halen.
