A place for recreation and sportive activity is the Sahnpark in Crimmitschau. The park is with its 40 hectares the town's largest and oldest park facility. Here Leipzig riverside forests mix with mountain forests of the lower Erz Mountains and the Vogtland.

We start our walk-about at the artificial ice stadium. Here the ETC Crimmitschau delivered its fans many thrilling ice-hockey games. From September to March leisure athletes can do ice skating. Especially popular are the ice discos, which take place regularly. During the other months the surface is being used for roller skating, hockey and cultural events like concerts.

From the artificial ice stadium we orientate us towards the right and follow the stream. After a short walk we reach the Sahn Bath.

Founded in 1869 as a men's bathhouse the Sahn Bath offers its visitors the largest water surface of west Saxony. A swimming pool (100m x 50m), a children's pool (55m X 28m) with fountain and a little slide and a non-swimmer pool invite visitors into the refreshing water.

Walking further along the stream we can take a side trip at the end of the park to the West Saxon Textile Museum Crimmitschau and learn about the art of textile processing.

On the way back we walk above the stream via lovely forest path. After ca 30 minutes we reach the gondola and swan lake. These lakes idyllically integrated into the park are ideal for a round walk and pause. At the Forsthaus the hiker can quench his thirst and hunger.
