The church, to be seen in the picture is the fifth church in Bremen dedicated to the holy Remberti. The first was already built in the Feldmark Pagentorn beginning of the 14th-century.

It was demolished in 1547 and replaced by a new church in 1596, but due to its disrepair, it was replaced by a hall church with a hipped roof in 1736. From 1869 to 1871, the fourth Remberti-church was constructed by the architect Heinrich Müller.
