The west facade of the St. Petri cathedral towers between the town hall and the Bürgerschaft's building. The prevailing taste of many centuries is unmistakable. The cathedral's oldest parts stem from the 11th-century.
One enters the three-aisled inner room through the south portal. A precious reticulated vault spans over the raised central nave. Numerous art-historically valuable objects make a visit to the cathedral well worth it.
