The St. Michaelis is situated right in the middle of Lüneburg's historical old town. It is also called Bach church in the north because Johann Sebastian Bach went to school there in his younger years.
Church guided tours
We offer groups guided tours through the St. Michaelis church. Prior booking is needed. During the guided walk-about by our voluntary assistants you learn about the history and treasures of the St. Michaelis church. We are happy to accommodate also special topics (e.g. Michaelis church as minster, church music and church construction, the change of the church interior over time, St. Michaelis and Reformation) by prior request.

Every Monday at 4pm from May to September there are guided tours through the St. Michaelis church. For ca. 45 minutes St. Michaelis church warden show interested visitors in a walk-about special features and church treasures. Booking is only necessary for groups with more than 10 persons.
Church warden
On many days you'll meet voluntary church wardens at the St. Michaelis church. They are happy to help you to discover our church and reveal their personal favourite places in the church. Do talk to them if you need information or assistance.
The church warden happily sell you postcards, church guides and candles for the big candleholder.
