Organ guided tours
The big Renaissance-/Baroque organ from 1553/1715 is not only a special gem in St. Johannis but is also worldwide one of the most important Dutch witnesses of Renaissance organ building. The young Johann Sebastian Bach played the organ during his Lüneburg stay between 1700 and 1702.
In the course of a guided tour, which takes roughly one hour, you hear about the origin of this organ, experience the diverse, glorious acoustic colour of the individual organ stops and listen to organ music of famous North German organists, among them Georg Böhm, organist at this organ from 1698 to 1733.
Is your group has less than 15 persons you can also enter the organ loft and look the organist over the shoulder - a very special experience.
The charge for a guided tour is 100 Euro. Appointment scheduling with KMD Joachim Vogelsänger are possible under the telephone number 0 41 31/73 15 42 or by E-Mail: j.vogelsaenger@gmx.de.
