In Heistern along the Hamicher Strasse stands the 'Örjelchen'. It is a small dwelling from the early 19th-century. The two-storey, one-room deep eaves house made from bricks is a listed building. It has a wide cantilever half-timbered top structure with small window openings on the left house part. This special construction form is known in the vernacular as 'Örjelchen'.

It is not clear whether the wooden cross was always at this place in front of the house wall. But in 1903 already wrote pastor Reidt in his 'Umschau zu Wenau (Wenau Review)' about the village Heistern: 'In the middle of the village stands an old, wooden cross draped with the body of Christ.' The house is still occupied today and new annexes were added.
