Oderwitz is a long stretched village at the foot of the 510m high Spitzberg. One has a wonderful panorama over the Oberlausitzer highlands.
The villagescape is formed by time-honoured mills and Umgebinde-houses that have been lovingly conserved with idyllic gardens.

The Weather Studio 'Zittauer Gebirge' is situated at the former minicipal office of the village Oberoderwitz.
Children and youth groups and tourists are able to extend their knowledge about the weather and the work of a meteorologist  within the scope of information events at the Wetterkabinett.
