Norderstedt

Norderstedt, Schleswig-Holstein's fifth largest town.

In surface area Norderstedt is even the fourth largest town. Thus, the biggest town in the district Segeberg. Norderstedt is also de facto part of Hamburg's agglomeration and thus belongs to the metropolis region.

The town is often described as
'A countryside town".

Nowhere else embraces the relaxing flair of nature, modern economy so harmonically as in Norderstedt.

Economy and culture

Norderstedt experienced a real 'boom' in the last few years. The economy made a big jump forward and lots of new things followed. Since then Norderstedt has a population of roughly 8.000 - 10.000. Apart from the many sports offers and two new discotheques, Norderstedt has also its own regional TV station 'Noa4' for the first time.

Norderstedt's location

Norderstedt is situated in the southern part of Schleswig-Holstein, directly at the northern edge of Hamburg and borders onto the districts of Niendorf, Langenhorn, Hummelsbüttel, Poppenbüttel, Lemsahl-Mellingstedt and Duvenstedt.

Accessibility to Norderstedt

The town Norderstedt has also very good connections in regards to traffic. In circa 60-90 minutes one reaches the Baltic or North Sea and in 30 minutes Hamburg's city centre. The construction of a motorway approach road to Norderstedt is being planned for the future.
