Bad Segeberg and the bats – that always belonged together conceptually. Thanks to the around 16.000 bats of different species, which move into the winter quarter at the Kalkberg cave annually. Only, visitors are hardly aware of that. In order not to disturb the animals in its hibernation cave guided tours don't take place in the winter.
That is the reason NOCTALIS was set up, Europe's only experience world in matters of bats. In the building located next to the cave entrance NOCTALIS shows in thrilling productions the diversity, beauty and character of these still little known animals.
