The village Negenborn is situated in the northeast corner of the district. It is nestling on a height of 185 metres at the southern slope of the Burgberg, which has splendid beeches. the 325 metres high Burgberg stands protecting against the cold north winds. At the south foot of the Volksburg, there where a spring brings up plenty of good water can we look for Negenborn's origin. Its name is first mentioned in the published Corveyschen Traditionen from 890 - 900. A »henricus de niginburne« is being mentioned in a document from 1242. In the news of Germany's high and lower nobility A. v. Scheidt, appears a Arthus v. Neghenborne around 1329 for the last time. The dynasty appears only for a short time. By then Negenborn, which belonged to the administration Salzderhelden, had grown. In 1494 3 husbandmen and 7 cotters are being recorded. There were roughly 50 people living there.
