Since 1993 literature has a permanent address in Lüneburg:
The historical Heinrich-Heine-House at the marketplace in the Hanseatic city's centre. Her the literary office Lüneburg has its seat ad forum for literature and literary sponsorship in Lüneburg and the region.

In the centre of the activities is the event programme with German and international authors. German speaking writers are being awarded and promoted with the Heinrich-Heine-scholarship. Projects and cooperation events with the Leuphana University Lüneburg like the LiteraTour Nord or the Heinrich-Heine-guest-lectureship promote the exchange between science and practise.

A diverse programme of readings, lectures and discussions turn the Heinrich-Heine-House into a lively place of encounters and examinations with literature.
