Lime kiln Wessling

image author: J.Backhausen,bac-up.net

The lime kiln Wessling in the Recker district of Steinbeck, is the only preserved lime kiln of its kind and thus a very special industrial monument. The present condition complies with the time after the 2nd World War. Electricity was available then, enabling the limestone to be ground with electricity and then packaged and sold in powder form.
