In Euskirchen in the northern area of the Erftaue is Kessenich Castle situated. The castle facility consists of a manor, farm buildings as well as the moat and a historical access.

In 1339 Kessenich Castle was mentioned for the first time. Since 2004 the castle has changed its earth-coloured surface. It shines now in a strong brick-red.
