The Exer Valley is a charming recreation and hiking area in the Lippe mountainous region, rich in forests and meadows and romantic side valleys. There is something to discover in any season. The climate of this is dust-free, less fog, is mild, low in irritants and soft. Well signposted hiking paths run through fields, meadows and shady deciduous forests to new viewing points.

The old castle of the Earl von Sternberg, is today a music castle and with its kight's hall, the castle museum and the historic fountain an attraction. A trip with the historic railway become a special experience as well as a trip with the bicycle rail trolley.
