Dörentrup is a community in NRW, belongs to the district Lippe and is situated in the nature reserve Teutoburg Forest / Eggegebirge.
Surface: 49,79 km²
Population: over 9.000

Here one meets young and old, big and small – there is something for everybody here! Old traditional breeds are being kept again. Watch the Lippe geese, skuddes, Rhön sheep, Mangalicas, Thuringia forest goats or old, rare poultry breeds along special signposted hiking paths.

Spa garden with House of the Guest, Kneipp-stepping pool, music shell with event programme, landscaped park with angling lake. Dörentrup is the ideal recreation place for nature friends. Daily, hikers discover new nature beauties on the nature trail and the circular hiking path Dörentrup.

Bega

with a surface of 6,76 km²
and a population of 1.392

In 1896 Dörentrup got a railway connection through the opening of the Begatalbahn from Lage to Hameln.

Hillentrup

with a surface of 13,26 km²
and a population of 3.574

On the 1st of January1969, Hillentrup became part of the community Dörentrup.
