District Teltow-Fläming

With the communal reform the new district Teltow-Fläming was formed in 1993. It covers an area of 2090,58 square kilometres.

The name was chosen according to the existing counrtyside names: the Teltow Plateau originating in the Ice Age in the north and the (Lower) Fläming in the south.

The district Teltow-Fläming can refer to a complex and interesting past, which still forms the picture of many towers and villages.

Soft rolling hills and wide-ranging valleys, protected areas, banks and lowlands are ideal to explore fauna and flora.

Nearly 40 percent of the district's total area is widespread pine and deciduous forests. 25 lakes and extensive hilly landscape are ideal for hiking, riding, cycling and recuperation.
