Community Winsen (Aller)

The at the northwest border of the district Celle situated village Winsen (Aller) looks back onto a 1000-year history. The original name for Weideland (pasture), namely Wynhausen, changed over time from Wensen to Wynsen and Winsen upper aire to the present Winsen.

The open-air museum on the Galgenberg, shows a typically agricultural farm estate of the 17th to the 19th-century.
Exhibitions, concerts and lectures take place inside the "Dat Groode Hus", the farmhouse from 1795.

Winsen (Aller) is a state approved climatic resort and the villages Bannetze, Meißendorf, Stedden, Südwinsen, Thören, Walle and Wolthausen are grouped around Winsen.
Surrounded by forests, heathland and water bodies, guests and visitors can expect diverse leisure time options. Whether on foot, horse or carriage, by water or air there is something interesting for every taste.

Especially the Aller river offers the many guests a special experience, as there are many canoes to hire for family and groups.
