Community Scheessel

Our church play village, which has 11.000 inhabitants, can look bach onto nearly 1200 years of history.
Ideally situatated at the northwest border of the Lüneburger Heide, offers Scheeßel relaxing peace but there are several options for the active holiday maker. Good transport connections to the big cities of Hamburg and Bremen. North and Baltic Sea are easily reached in convenient daytrips. Well worth seeing in the village centre are the St.-Lukas-church with its 500 year old court lime tree, the cultural and meeting place Meyerhof and the Heimathaus with its annexe. The traditional Scheeßeler costumes and dances are looked after by the international known groups 'De Beekschepers' and ' Original Scheeßeler Trachtengruppe'. 150km marked and fully developed trails ivite hiking and biking through heathland, forest and moor. Diverse sports and leisure time facilities give the option to ride, fish, play tennis, squash, badminton, to bowl, golf and swim in the heated fun and leisure time swimmimg pool.
