The College for Music Detmold is situated amidst one of Germany's most attractive royal seats. For over 60 years, international renowned top musicians have been teaching here in an ambiance, which makes educational-artistic working of a high intensity possible.
The college has over ten specific furnished buildings, which are situated campus-like in and around the beautiful palace garden: strings, wind instruments, singers and drummers have their own houses; the pianists and organists reside in the old palace, where also the larger chamber music ensembles rehearse and concentrate.
The Musicologists work in an art nouveau villa at the fringe of the garden, while the school musicians and future instrumental teacher have their scientific seminars in the technical outstanding equipped »Pädagogikhaus«. Opera scholars can fall back on the historical summer theatre, situated on the fringe of the campus, for podium training and scenic presentations. The sound engineer studios have been built-on at the large concert house, which is worldwide unique in its sound technology.
