The sign-posted trail starts at the town hall Langwedel, where a fountain reminds one that Langwedel was an important resting place for waggoner in earlier times. You cycle along the Große Straße direction Verden. If you like you stop at the Bahnhofstraße and admire in the Herrenkamp, the nucleus of the present village, the beautiful old oaks. At the village end next to the Burgbad (public swimming pool) you'll see a mound: This is the last remain of a once important castle belonging to the Bremer archbishops, who knew how to control the old way from Bremen to Verden. Behind the big railway crossing gate you turn left and cross the 'America-line', which connects Uelzen with Bremen; on this route emigrants rode to the overseas' ports in the past.

The residential estate Nindorf developed mainly after the war when refugees found a new home there. Here we recommend the private vehicle museum and the Heidschnucken-Schäferei Hehmsoth (German Grey heath sheep farm). Further on past Holtebüttel to the open-air theatre. The RWE–DEA–Concern produces natural gas here. Now you cycle through Schülingen– here it is possible to enjoy a covered wagon trip – and then slightly uphill past the Overing: At the rest-stop enjoy the view, in good weather you can see Bremen. Völkersen is your next destination; you might want to do some shopping at the farm shop. You leave the village on the Rotenburger Straße and turn left to drive via Düvelshagen and an unpaved forest trail up to the forester's lodge Spange. Barbeque place and nature trail are ideal for a little stay before you cycle through the diverse Geest landscape to Haberloh, which is characterised by agriculture and horse breeding. Do visit here the Hof–Café !

Cycle now south, turn right at the edge of the forest into a quiet farm road to reach via the Ottersberger Straße again Völkersen. Do stop at the pub on the right and relax for a bit, then cycle between the sports grounds to then turn right again direction Langwedelermoor. Here the landscape shows itself from a very different side and if you like you could change over from bicycle to a horse. Nature lover shouldn't miss to look at the biotope area 'Kiebitzmoor'. Now take the Grasdorfer Straße, turn first left and then right and follow a shadowy farm road where at the end you turn left. Shortly before the Giersberg housing estate you'll find hidden on the left hand side the 'Schwedenschanze', an old fortification facility. Cross underneath the motorway and later the railway and you are in Etelsen. Right the windmill 'Jan Wind', left the church 'Zum guten Hirten', both are well worth a visit.

Cycle along the Bremer Straße direction Achim, then the palace and palace park are an ideal place for a short breather. You also have to do a little detour if you want to visit the sluice. Cycle further on through the Weser marsh towards Grinden, here you can reach the other side of the Weser with the ferry on weekends and public holidays. But our circular trail leads you on this side of the river in a wide loop to the camping ground Drosselhof with a chance to a stop. Once you have enjoy a hearty meal you should admire the houses in Hagen, which are built on artificial knolls for safety reasons, the storks in their nests and then you reach coming through the typical marsh landscape the canal bridge (shipping pier) and from there you reach Daverden.
