The Achimer chimes consists of 24 bells and is situated in the Achimer pedestrian zone on the Bibliotheksplatz. It is one of Germany's largest. The roof is to be depicting a shady tree under which one can seek protection. The perforated metal plate symbolises the tree's foliage. Since the 6th of December 1997 the chimes rings monodic or polyphonic well-known songs daily.
Ringing times: daily at 10am, 12noon, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm and in addition Saturdays at 11am the 'farmer's market concert' (ca. 10 minutes).
