Brodersby has been since March 1995, an 'approved health resort'.
Resort area
with over 200 holiday cottages,
yacht harbour with ca.
160 berths, the private landlords with nearly
200 accommodations and the many day guests turn the village during the summer half-year into a tourist centre. Economical viewpoints of the tourism are authoritative for many communal-political decisions.
The position at the tightest place at the Schlei has formed Brodersby from its first settlement to the present.
The conflict at the middle of the past century with Denmark has to be seen in this connection, to become aware when we see the graves of Danish, Prussian and Schleswig-Holstein soldiers at the graveyard high over the Brodersbyer Noor.
Over many centuries the church is the rural centre; the community centre next door has become a meeting place in the last 10 years.
The folk-dance group Brodersby-Goltoft provides through its maintenance of past and traditional descents an important contribution as does the village museum at the Missunder Fährstraße that is always worth a visit.
At the rooms of the village museum is also the local branch of the Fremdenverkehrsvereins Schleidörfer e.V. (Tourism office) and the post agency, which is being managed by the community.
