At the moor train station Ströhen/Han. in the community Wagenfeld holidaymaker can experience a so-called 'track change'. Coming from the neighbouring Westphalian Rahden with the Auenland-handcar - first track, the guest can be taken into the Neustadt raised bog with the Ströher moor train - another track - where the Moorpadd - a third track - brings you the special habitat nearer in an interesting and educational way.
With the historical moor train, which once transported peat from the moor to the former Ströher train station, we go at comfortable travel- 'speed' of 6 km/h directly into the nature reserve 'Neustädter Moor' - time to enjoy the diverse route through forest and meadows, heather and moor and just relax.
Off we go at the moor train station Ströhen/Han. in the community Wagenfeld, after around 3,5km and a good half hour travel we arrive at the end of the line at Moorpadd near the sheep farm Teerling. From here it goes directly onto the Moorpadd, the moor nature trail at the nature reserve Neustädter Moor. But you can also explore one of the circular paths. With a bit of luck you might meet a shepherd with his herd of Diepholz White Pollard Heath, a native traditional breed.
