The water mills in Wersen

image author: Gemeinde Lotte

In the past, the water power of the river Düte fed four mills in Wersen:
a 'copper mill', a 'grain mill', an 'oil mill' and a 'buck and churn mill', the mill Bohle. This listed twin-mill has been the location of a water mill since the 13th or 14th-century. The grain mill was working until 1968, the saw mill until 1975. The main building made of quarrystone, built 1905, can be viewed as well as the three-arched bridge (1842) and the facilities of an old power generation energy (from 1920)
