The ones who talk about Schmo mills, thinks of windmills. Only a few know that the the name 'Schmo mill' derives from a watermill, which was located at the Schmo beck, in fact roughly 30 metres left of the bridge on Eggers meadow.
The exact location can't be traced as the beck bed of the Schmo has been regulated several times.
The water mill stems from the time of around 1500. Schmo mills were already known during the Thirty Year War.
