When you study the stations of this 450 kilometre long cycle tour you will be astounded by its contrast. along the route there is for example a gigantic brown coal digger in active open-cast mining, Brandenburg's largest artificial lake, yes even Europe's, the Senftenberger Lake, the city of Cottbus with the unique pyramids at the Fuerst-Pückler-Park Branitz or the Eurospeedway-Lausitz, which is regarded as Europe's most modern test and racing track.
They are all situated in the mining area of the Niederlausitz and are tightly connected with the brown coal mining, which turned this area once into the energy centre of the DDR. The well constructed and in most parts covered in asphalt has been sign-posted with the record-devil signs that are also mining symbols in the region. The miner say with a wink: 'God created the Lausitz and the devil hid the coal - but we've found it...'
