The Local Museum is situated at the yard of the Langenselbolder Palace and is open every 1st Sunday in a month from 1pm - 5pm.
The expansive palace facility with 6 buildings and a little park was built for the earl Isenburg-Birstein in the 2nd quarter of the 18th century.
Today's museum is situated in the palace's former farm building.
Exhibited are among others a corner-shop, a classroom with wooden benches and toys from the past. Everyday items like irons and washing utensils are also on show.
A collection of craft and agricultural implements shows the life of people then quite impressively.
The Verein für Geschichte und Heimatkunde Langenselbold e.V. (Society for history and local history) takes lovingly care of the cultural treasures and historical tradition from the past.
