Erika, im Konsum gibt`s Bananen (Erika, the co-operative shop sells bananas) 9,67 EUR The moccasin telegraph made the female Germans get a move on, the left home, put their children into a playpen, took food of the stove, stopped ironing, closed offices, put the perm fast under a hood drier, transferred supervision of the sausage to the last saleswoman, jumped out of their love nest... in short, this news played havoc with the whole daily routine. These are stories that characterise those times, funny, happy, sad, reflective and introspective, annoying and pensive ones. They don't intend to be exhaustive but they are worth of being written down in our fast-living time before the memory is lost. Some may say: "Has it really changed so much?" Yes, not everything that we criticised earlier has become better but it is different.
