Old distillery

The old distillery of the year 1853, is today Xanten's only industrial-historical monument from the 19th-century. It was originally built as an oil mill. Liqueurs and schnapps were still produced well into the 70ties of the last century.

Fürstenberg chapel

A bit outside of Xanten, on the way to Birten, at the Fürsten Hill is the Fürstenberg chapel situated. The chapel was built by the abbess Brigitte Wilhelmine from Backum in 1671 and remembers the Benedictine monastery, which stood at the Fürsten Hill for nearly 500 years.
