The call towards the catholic church in Königs Wusterhausen became louder and louder in 1899.
The parish hall, consecrated in 1902 was not big enough and so the construction of a catholic parish started in February 1937.

The church was already consecrated on the 1st of August 1937 by Bishop Conrad Preysing.
This building carries the name of the holy Elisabeth of Hungary, who can be seen as clay figure above the entrance portal.

The simplicity of the church in its construction and interior goes back to construction times.
The internal space, roofed by an arched wooden ceiling, is fitted with three figures: a wooden cross with Jesus, the figure of the 'good shepherd' and 'Blessed mother Maria'.

The church's three bells are made of sounding steel and were inaugurated on the 11th of April 1937.
An organ by Sauer was added in 1948, which was consecrated in 1949 on saints' day.

Many renovations and recreations changed from 1952 till today the interior as well as the exterior appearance.
Examples are the swap of the high altar to an altar table, a dark-brown coat of paint, new window glazing, installation of a floor heating or the clay tile roofing.
In 2008 followed an interior colour redesign, orientating on the original from 1937.
