At the Town Hall Park/ Obernstraße

Cenotaph in rememberance of the fallen soldiers of the German-French war from 1870/1871. The names of the dead soldiers are inscribed at the lower part of the monument. The monument was first located at the very busy Bahnhofstraße. When a horse team ran agaist it and the horse had to be destroyed a district council ruling stated that the monument has to be relocated to the Achimer Rathauspark.
