Singing is fun - this is the motto for the rehearsal evenings in Klenke's inn in Langwedel every Tuesday. From 7.30pm to 9.30pm the singers of the mixed choir Langwedel-Borstel experience that again and again. And they rehearse with true enthusiasm when their choirmaster with the support of Gerold Leukel at the piano waves his baton. This choir has more or less 30 members and their repertoire encompassed the whole spectrum of music. This choir sings everything from folk songs to pop songs and from gospel to evergreen. Since the year 2003 when Wolfgang Schneidewind became choirmaster the repertoire has changed a lot. With the help of Gerold Leukel, who arranged popular songs new for the choir like 'Sailing' by Rod Stewart, 'What a wonderful world' by Louis Armstrong, 'Que Sera' by Doris Day, 'Es ist so schön, am Abend bummeln zu gehen' or also 'Nur nicht aus Liebe weinen' und accompanies the choir on the piano. Audiences are again and again surprised by during concerts, performances and serenades what this choir is able to do. And to think that most members can't read music. 'Well one can see whether it goes up or down - and how high or how low we have to sing for that we have Wolfgang and Gerold', is the view of the many singers. And if it has to be an 'English piece' the 'grumbling' is not as strong as it used to be. All pull together - and when the choir practice is over everybody is happy. And then there are shared events like barbequing, day trips and and and..... singing is real fun .....
But - the one or other additional men's voice would be nice...
We are happy to welcome every 'new woman' or every 'new man'. Don't be afraid nobody has to audition ....
