If you want to dive into the region's prehistoric times, then visit the Megalith tomb in the Lengerich's district of Wechte close proximity to the small castle town Tecklenburg.
This megalithic chambered tomb, which is situated ca. 4 kilometres from Lengerich, on the left side of the Tecklenburger Straße direction Tecklenburg, was discovered in 1927. Over long time periods, members of an extended tribal family were here buried with grave goods.

The stony parts are around 4000 years old and allow a cautious insight into the burial culture of our ancestors.
