A trip to the Rantzauer Lake in Barmstedt connects in an impressive way fun, nature and historical memories of the 'good old times'.

History and nature
The palace island is actually a historical remnant from the old age of chivalry. Cute houses and cafés provide here nostalgic moments and one can even fortify one self in an old prison cell.

A walk around the relatively small lake is well worth it. It was excavated in the years 1934 to 1938. The Rantzauer Lake has a lot of leisure time options to offers should walking alone be a bit too boring for you.
