The Junkernschänke was built as a residence with a gable towards the Barfüßerstraße in 1451.

The sculptor Bartold Kastrop purchased the building in 1499.

In the years from 1547 to 1549, the half-timbered house was refurbished by the mayor Gyserler Schwanenflogel. The construction measures were mainly done at the gateway and the bay. Depiction: planetary gods and biblical scenes.

The building has been housing gastronomical establishments since 1896.
