Obernstraße, 28832 Achim, in the pedestrian zone/ at the district court
Left adjacent to the district court is a fountain from the year 1793. It was uncovered and restored with the help of donations. It is the so-called 'Hunger Fountain'.

„Sandstein-Ziegelbrunnen, Tiefe 6m auf Eichenpfählen, Wasserstand 3m, urkundliche Erwähnung 1789. Gelegen an der alten Handelsstraße zwischen den Bistümern Bremen und Verden. Wiederentdeckt und restauriert. Der Stadt Achim als Geschenk übergeben am 20. Mai 1995 vom Lions Club Achim.“

The fountain was discovered during drillings and excavations in 1994. It was apparently drilled by a tax collector for his wife so that she didn't had such a long way to bleach her washing.
